Synopsis The first Eddie. The big wave surfing contest held in the memory of great Hawaiian surfer, Eddie Aikau. Eddie was lost at sea during a recreation voyage from Hawaii to Tahiti. In his memory the world's best big wave surfers come together to surf on the biggest day of the winter. After a 2 1/2 month waiting period the big day arrives.
